Stella McCartney is to show at London Fashion Week in February 2012. The British designer has previously always presented her latest collections in Paris. However, next year she is changing things up in order to debut a "one-off" range in the UK capital during the Fall/Winter 12 season. "The Saturday night 'special fashion presentation' on February 18 next year will, her office emphasised, be to showcase a 'one-off' Stella McCartney collection," reports British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. "It will be the focal point of a London-based marketing Stella-thon next February that will see a World of Stella exhibition of Selfridges, a new fragrance launch, and the opening of a new Stella McCartney store, her second in London." Stella is designing the sports outfits being worn by the UK team at the 2012 Olympic Games. It's not thought that her special presentation is linked to the sports event. Despite showcasing in London, Stella's main Fall/Winter 12 line will be presented in Paris several weeks later as usual. It's unknown whether the decision to conduct a runway display in London means Stella is considering moving her shows in the future.
